About Me

Liz Bruce has 15+ years of experience across corporate communications and finance. She is currently the Head of Communications for Greycroft, a $2 billion venture capital firm, as well as a strategic communications advisor to senior leaders across a wide range of industries.

Liz started her career at Goldman Sachs in investment banking, advising consumer and retail clients on M&A and capital raises. In 2008, at the start of the Financial Crisis, Liz became the first Global Chief of Staff for Corporate Communications at Goldman Sachs, where she set up and led the External Reputation Management working team to coordinate senior leaders from the executive office, legal and compliance functions to quickly respond to issues and advise business leaders on reputationally sensitive business transactions. Liz also worked with the firm’s investor relations, risk, and finance teams on earnings and public announcements to ensure messaging was consistent and appropriate for all key stakeholders, including investors, analysts, media, employees, clients, and regulators.

In 2012, Liz co-founded Fitzroy Communications, where she advised clients across a wide range of industries on internal and external communications challenges. Fitzroy was acquired in 2017 by Teneo, a CEO advisory firm, where Liz was a Senior Managing Director and led the restructuring of a large consulting firm’s marketing department. In 2018, Liz left Teneo to advise companies on business strategy, stakeholder positioning, communications strategy, and operations. She was named the acting US Managing Director for M&C Saatchi Public Relations, the COO of Boudica, a digital community for professional women, and Head of Communications at Y2X Life Sciences, a non-toxic disinfection company. Liz holds degrees in computer science and finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Who is Operator for?

Operator is for any individual or brand that is seeking domain expertise advice, business strategy guidance, mentorship or support from our curated group of leading marketers and communications specialists.

How is Operator different than the Publicist marketplace?

Operator was created to support individuals who are looking for advice, support or inspiration from Experts. Operators share guidance but they do not produce any tangible deliverables. While brands can hire talent from Publicist platform for strategic support, The Publicist marketplace is geared towards brands who are looking to hire talent to execute on specific projects or deliverables. The Publicist marketplace and Operator offerings are complementary. With Operator, individuals and brands will gain valuable insights and get specific guidance on anything from how to scale a business, to what it is like to run a marketing and communications team and so much more. Once they’ve received advice, they can go to the Publicist marketplace and search for talent to execute on new initiatives.
